Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

SFFFF is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all areas of our work, including artist selection, audience development, programming, and recruitment of staff and volunteers. All qualified artists, contractors, staff and volunteers receive consideration for involvement without regard to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, protected veteran or disability status or any factor prohibited by law. We practice and promote these values throughout our organization and externally in the partnerships and connections we intentionally create.

Human Rights

SFFFF is inspired and guided by the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes that “the inherent dignity and … the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.”

Black Lives Matter

SFFFF stands with Black Lives Matter, and we are allies in the movement against the murder of people of color by police officers worldwide.  We support anti-racism, inclusion, equality and the use of the arts as a venue for giving a voice to the oppressed, the marginalized, and the voices that need to be amplified in support of social justice in the world.

LGBTQIA+

We work toward creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for LGBTQIA+ filmmakers, staff, volunteers, audience members, interns and partners. SFFFF aims to sustain visibility and a sense of community throughout the festival. We are committed to building organizational workplace equity, promoting high quality, culturally sensitive programming to our viewers.

SFFFF Values

We take an intersectional approach to our work and believe that fighting one form of oppression means fighting all forms of oppression. We are committed to promote equality and respect for all people.
